OSHA Form 300A Posting and Submission Deadlines for 2025

What is OSHA Form 300A?

OSHA Form 300A summarizes work-related injuries and illnesses recorded in the previous calendar year. Even if your business had no recordable incidents in 2024, you may still be required to post this form.

Key Deadlines for OSHA Form 300A Compliance?

  • February 1 - April 30, 2025 - Employers must post Form 300A in a visible location for employees.
  • March 2, 2025 - Certain businesses must submit Form 300A data electronically through OSHA's Injury Tracking Application (ITA)

Failure to comply can result in OSHA penalties, so it is essential to understand if these requirements apply to your business.

Who Needs to Post OSHA Form 300A?

Most businesses with 11 or more employees at any point in 2024 must post Form 300A in a common area where employees can see it, such as a break room.

Exemptions from OSHA Form 300A Posting:

Your business does not need to post Form 300A if:

  1. It had 10 or less employees throughout 2024
  2. It operates in a low-hazard industry as defined by OSHA

Even if exempt from routine recordkeeping, all employers must report serious workplace incidents, including fatalities, hospitalizations, amputations, or loss of an eye.

Who Needs to Submit OSHA Form 300A Electronically?

Certain businesses must also submit Form 300A online by March 2, 2025, through OSHA's Injury Tracking Application (ITA)

Businesses Required to Submit Form 300A Electronically:

  • Establishments with 250 or more employees in 2024.
  • Establishments with 20-249 employees in a high-risk industry.

Important: OSHA's electronic submission requirements are based on the number of employees at each establishment (physical location), not the company's total employee count.

Not sure if your business needs to submit electronically? Use OSHA's ITA Coverage Application to check your status.

Additional OSHA Reporting for High-Hazard Industries

If your business is in a high-hazard industry and had 100 or more employees in 2024, you must also submit:

  • OSHA Form 300 - Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses
  • OSHA Form 301 - Injury and Illness Incident Report

These must be submitted electronically in addition to Form 300A

Common OSHA Compliance Mistakes to Avoid

Many businesses make simple errors when handling OSHA reporting. Avoid these common mistakes:

  1. Forgetting to post Form 300A - It must be displayed every year from February 1 to April 30.
  2. Not obtaining executive certification - A company executive must sign Form 300A before posting.
  3. Failing to submit electronic reports - If required, businesses must submit Form 300A (and, if applicable, Forms 300/301) online by March 2.
  4. Assuming exemption applies - Even if a business is exempt from routine OSHA recordkeeping, serious injuries and fatalities must always be reported.
